RED BENCHES

You’ll have red benches
to sit on
if this construction
ever gets done.
We’ve been going
on two years
and although
we’re closer,
it’s not done.
See the painters
coating the railings?
Why do painters
wear white hats
and white overalls?
They can’t paint
too many things white
and all the other colors
show up with a splash
of pea green paint
