without my glasses the faces of strangers
the lines in their faces the wrinkles on their trousers
the pleats in their skirts
I want to go somewhere where the headlights
don’t blind me till I cry the ground lights
don’t sneak up from my shoes
or the flood lights flood over me with light
I want to go some where
